We are honored to announce that the Peter Maurin Center has been selected to receive the Bishop Anthony M. Pilla Leadership Award at the 47th Annual Bishop William Cosgrove Justice Dinner on November 21, 2025. This recognition reflects the tremendous compassion, commitment, and community support that make our mission possible.
Recognition for the Emergency Overnight Warming Center Partnership
This award highlights our role in helping establish and support the Akron Emergency Overnight Warming Center Partnership, which provides safe, warm shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness during dangerously cold nights. The partnership brings together local churches, volunteers, service organizations, and community supporters who refuse to let our most vulnerable neighbors face winter alone.
