Campsite Support Visits

Outreach Program

Labre and Matthew 8:20 Outreach Program

“Foxes have dens, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” – Matthew 8:20

Meeting People Where They Are

When: Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings
Service Area: Campsites, bridge underpasses, abandoned buildings, garages, and parks throughout Greater Akron

Our mobile ministry travels directly to those who cannot reach our center, providing meals, clothing, personal hygiene supplies, and first-aid provisions to our homeless neighbors living in outdoor locations.

Our Consistent Commitment

  • 25-30 tent sites visited twice weekly
  • 17 consecutive years of faithful service
  • Year-round outreach regardless of weather conditions
  • Dedicated volunteers who build relationships with outdoor residents

What We Provide

  • Hot, prepared meals delivered directly to camps
  • Seasonally appropriate clothing and blankets
  • Personal hygiene supplies and toiletries
  • First-aid supplies and basic medical care
  • Most importantly: friendship, dignity, and hope

Beyond Basic Needs

Our outreach volunteers don’t just deliver supplies—they build relationships. Many of our outdoor neighbors have been served by the same volunteers for years, creating bonds of trust and community that extend far beyond material assistance.
This ministry embodies our belief that every person deserves to be seen, valued, and cared for, regardless of their living situation.
