Mary was discovered in PMC's backyard one morning as volunteers arrived. The devastating discovery that her father had died three months earlier—without any family notification—left her emotionally shattered and completely alone.

PMC volunteers provided immediate emotional support and secured same-day placement at the Battered Women's Shelter, ensuring Mary's safety and connecting her with specialized domestic violence services.

Joe came to us in a wheelchair, managing severe back problems alongside lung disease, legal blindness in one eye, cirrhosis, seizure disorder, and depression. When he moved to a new address, his essential medications were lost or stolen, creating a dangerous health crisis.

PMC immediately contacted his pharmacy, securing an insurance override to make his medications available the next day. We arranged an 8 AM doctor's appointment and provided bus transportation. While waiting for his monthly food stamps, we connected Joe with local food resources to ensure his basic needs were met.

Breaking free from housing exploitation
